Cass Christopher "Spike" Kemp, age 69, passed away Friday morning, August 2, 2019 at his home.  The son of Cass W. & Bernice (Stevens) Kemp, he was born on November 20, 1949 in St. Petersburg, Florida and was a 1968 graduate of Greenville High School.  

A proud veteran of the Vietnam War, Cass attained the rank of sergeant and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the M-14 Marksman medal, the M-16 Expert medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (awarded for consistent acts of heroism or meritorious service) and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Cass retired from the engineering department at Ford Motor Company after 35 plus years of service and returned home to Greenville.

Honoring his wishes, private services will be held with military honors rendered by the U.S. Army and the Ray I. Booth American Legion Post 101 Honor Guard.

    So sorry to hear of SpikeGÇÖs passing. I only have pleasant memories of our days at GHS. So glad i got to see him at our 59th Reunion. May God Bless the Kemp Family and give you Peace at this time of sorrow. Clark Kent, Columbus OH

    So sorry for your loss. I remember Spike and me escorting two Danish girls around town at one of the first Danish Festivals. It took us a while to figure out that they didnGÇÖt speak English! It was great to see him at our 50th reunion last year. May you find comfort in his memory.

    Sorry to read about SpikeGÇÖs passing. We went to school together from grade school on. He was a nice man. It was great seeing him at our 50th last year. Hugs and prayers for the family as you go through this difficult time.
