Carolyn L. Phillips-Lindberg, age 53, of Ionia, slipped away to the loving arms of Jesus on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Heartland Health Care in Ionia. The daughter of Leslie C. & Fannie Y. (Miller) Field, she was born on August 14, 1962 in Greenville. Carolyn loved to spend time with her family and friends. Carolyn was known to be brave, strong, gifted, and selfless. She endured through rheumatoid arthritis and later a two year battle with lymphoma cancer. She showed us all how to live and die with grace and dignity.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Leslie Field; a her twin sister Marilyn, Field. Surviving are her mother, Fannie Field; two brothers, Ralph Field and Loren Field; a sister, Connie Wright; her three children, Ronald & Lisa Dean, Lisa Dean; Robert & Heather Phillips, and Leslie Phillips; a granddaughter, Layla Dean; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
Carolyn loved life, her family, writing poetry, reading, creating art, wild horses, truck driving, and the mountains of Montana. She was a free spirit and will continue to live on through all of the lives she touched.
The family invites relatives and friends to celebrate Carolyn's life from 1-6 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 830 N. Hillman Road, Stanton. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations toward final expenses (checks payable to either Robert Phillips or Leslie Phillips), and extra funds will be donated to The Arthritis Foundation (for rheumatoid arthritis research) and to Heartland Hospice.
