Carol Lee Susan Beech, 67, of rural Lakeview, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007 with her loving family at her side at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Campus, Grand Rapids, after a long and courageous battle. The daughter of Joseph J. & Adele (Neveril) Murphy, she was born on Aug. 16, 1939 in Belding. A 1957 graduate of Belding High School, she retired from the office at the former Gibson Refrigerator Company in 2001 after 34 years of service. She was a member of U.A.W. Local No. 1554.

Carol enjoyed reading, going to the casinos, yard sales, and working in her yard. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a grandson, Nathan Jones. Surviving are her loving companion, Donald Christensen of Lakeview; her children, Nancy Jo Jones, Judy Greenway, both of Greenville, Rebecca & Jeff Shotwell of Sheridan, Susan Beech of Belding, Gregory & Terri Greenway of Belmont, and Paul Greenway of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, JoAnne & Lloyd Baylis of Belding, Nancy (her twin) & Lorenzo Huey of Stanton; a brother, Joseph P. & Nancy Murphy of Ionia; thirteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; six step-great grandchildren; Dons sons, Chad Christensen of Detroit, and Brad Christensen of Pontiac; special cousin, Jeanne Hughes and her family; several nieces and nephews; many special friends; and her faithful pet companions, Poncho and Lizzie.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007 at the Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, with the Rev. Jerry Jones, pastor of the First Congregational Church, officiating. Honoring Carols wishes, cremation has taken place and burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Langston, in the spring.
