Carol Ann Gleason, age 73, of Gowen, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.  The daughter of Mark Merlin & Hazel Helen (Hein) Brock, she was born on June 22, 1945 in Sault Sainte Marie. 

After graduating high school, she attended Baker College in Muskegon and earned an associates degree. She then worked in the office at the former Electrolux Home Products in Greenville, eventually transferring to the production floor.  She had also worked in housekeeping at Spectrum Health-United Hospital.  Carol was a avid lover of all animals and was affectionately called "The Cat Lady" by her family.

On June 17, 1967, at Green Corners Baptist Church, she Michael J. Gleason and together they enjoyed 47 years of marriage until Mike passed away on September 17, 2014.  She was also preceded in death by her parents;  two sons, David Allen Gleason, and Patrick Michael Gleason;  a grandson, Maxwell Gleason;  a brother, Floyd Colvin;  and a brother-in-law, John Freeman, Jr. 

Surviving are two sisters, Cathy Freeman, and Shirley Brock & Tom Bean;  a sister-in-law, Lois Colvin, all of Sault Ste Marie;  siblings-in-law, Gary & Suzanne Gleason and Tammy Tompkins, all of Belding;  and several nieces and nephews.

Honoring her wishes, no services will be held.  Instead of flowers, Carol would have appreciated contributions in her memory to the Humane Society.
