Carol Ann House, age 70, of Oakfield Township, passed away Saturday afternoon, October 6, 2012 at Spectrum Health-Blodgett Hospital in East Grand Rapids.

The daughter of Arthur Lee & Ethel Matilda (Visger) Gress, she was born on Dec. 19, 1941 in Holland, Michigan.

On August 5, 1967, at the Cedar Springs United Methodist Church, she married Lyle A. House and together they enjoyed 45 years of marriage and raised three children.

Carol had worked outside the home at Wolverine World Wide and retired from the former Gibson Refrigerator Company. Carol loved life and lived it to the fullest. She enjoyed camping, crocheting, sewing, bowling, cooking, racing, and was a member of the Danish Sisterhood Society… but most of all delighted in time spent with her family.

Surviving are her husband, Lyle A. House of Oakfield Township; their children, Ann Marie (House) Cotton-Gay & London Gay of Oakfield Township, John Eric & Pamela House of Cedar Springs, and Timothy Allen & Lora House of Greenville; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a very special cousin and her best friend, Betty Carlson; her siblings-in-law, Virginia Lambertson of Newaygo, and Paul & Beverly House of Gowen.

Visitation is Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 12:00 Noon.

Pastor Dick Nichols of Cedar Creek Community Church will officiate and with burial following at Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. While flowers are welcome, memorial contributions to the Danish Brotherhood-Sisterhood would also be appreciated. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

So hard to believe the cousin that “shared” my life is gone. There is a special place in my heart that will be empty without Carol Ann in my life. I will always cherish the good times we had as kids and the love we shared. I watched her “Go With God” and that brings me great comfort. Till we meet in heaven, I love you Carol Ann!
