Beverly Irene (Andrews) Schrock, age 79, of Allendale, passed away peacefully at her ‘cabin in the woods’ on Saturday afternoon, February 13, 2016 following a battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Beverly was born in Grand Rapids on September 23, 1936 to Edith (Luurtsema) and George Andrews. She attended Wyoming Public Schools where she met and subsequently married her high school sweetheart, Roger Otto Schrock, on September 26, 1953.

‘Rog & Bev’ spent the next 62 years in the West Michigan area, raising a family of five children. Beverly was a full-time mom and homemaker, with a stint as a Library Aide in the Jenison Public Schools system. As grandchildren began to arrive, she happily and lovingly took on the role of babysitter for many of them, and always willingly provided a ‘shoulder to cry on’ for all of them. Beverly enjoyed traveling, collecting antiques, reading, baking cookies, sailing, playing the piano, and singing. She found true pleasure in attending as many of her children’s and grandchildren’s sports and performing arts activities as possible.

Over the years she took great joy in hosting countless family birthday and holiday celebrations at her beloved Allendale home. Recently she enjoyed time as a summer resident of Camp Tosebo in Onekama where she endeared herself to neighbors and made many lasting friends.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Otto Schrock of Allendale; sons, Mark (Martha Wickett) Schrock of Fennville, Kevin (Debbie) Schrock of Lamont, and Rob (Linda) Schrock of Baldwin; daughters, Kimberly (Joe) Perrin of Allendale, and Tammy Schrock of Portage. Beverly was proud of her eleven grandchildren: Jasen, Jacob, Rebecca, Rachel, Andrew, Christopher, Ashley, Jewelle, Caitlin, Kelsea, Cassie, and their spouses and significant others. She adored her twelve great-grandchildren: Sabrina, Austin, Ethan, Carmen, Hunter, Isaac, Vincent, Isadora, Rylenn, Xavier, Arianna and Leilia. Beverly is also survived by a sister, Charlotte (Ernst) Otto of Grand Rapids; brother-in-law, Terry (Pat) Schrock of Comstock Park; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family wishes to thank Spectrum Hospice, Senior Resources of West Michigan, Health Care Associates, Pine Rest, and numerous other health care professionals and caregivers for their loving care and support.

A private family gathering was held after Beverly’s passing, with cremation following. Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life service to be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 16th at the Hudsonville Congregational United Church of Christ, 4950 32nd Ave, Hudsonville, with Pastor Dan Furman presiding.
