Betty Lou Kinney, age 76, of Lansing, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019.

She was born on February 23, 1943, in Lansing, to the late Alton & Leona (Fink) Kinney.

Graduated from Holt High School class of 1962 and attended Great Lakes Bible college. Betty worked in Child Evangelism, Women’s Christian Temperance Union, supported Korean orphans, taught Sunday school at Holt Nazarene church and worked 30 years at Holiday Inn and Days Inn. She also attended Trinity Church in Lansing.

“Blessed in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” -Psalm 116:15

Betty is more alive now today than she’s ever been in her 76 years. She lived her earthly life with limitations, now she’s free, we’re so happy she made it home.

She will be missed by her younger brother. They enjoyed dining out on ribs or steak and their talks and walks. Love is all we remember. Life after death was her hope, now the Lord has her at home where she needs to be. Until we meet again…

Special thanks to Sue Davis and Lori Orr for being special friends and helping hands.

Betty is survived by her brother Larry (Evelyn) Kinney, her niece Carla (Hussein), great-niece Zaynah, great-nephew Ali and Laith or Wichita Kansas.  Her nephew Steve Kinney, great-niece Tabitha, great-nephew Brody of League City Texas.  Several cousins in Michigan, Florida and Minnesota.

Honoring her wishes cremation has taken place with her ashes to be scattered at sea later, over the Straits of Mackinaw waterway.

I also rejoice in Betty’s home going. In our earthiness we will miss her, but in our hope in the Resurrection we rejoice.

So sorry to hear of Pattys passing. I know her body struggled these last few years but she was a faithful sister in Christ She so enjoyed going to the quarterly ladies luncheons that Trinity put on for our widows and older single ladies. She was always so glad to be with her sisters in Christ and now shes with our Lord

Larry and Evelyn, We have such fond memories of Betty while we were at Holt. She loved the Lord and did what she could to serve Him, with gentleness and a smile. Praying for you in this sad time.

Larry and Evelyn, we are so sorry for your loss. Betty was in my Bible study small group several times at Trinity. I never made the connection that she was your sister. What a sweet and gentle person – she loved the Lord! I remember celebrating Resurrection Sunday with her and a couple of other ladies from her apartment building several years ago. I will miss dear Betty!
