Betty Jane Sughrue, age 79, of Orleans, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Sheridan Community Hospital. The daughter of William & Beatrice (Helms) Marshall, she was born on October 5, 1934 in Belding.

Betty had worked at the former Ore-Ida Foods plant in Greenville and later as a foster grandparents at Jefferson Elementary School in Ionia.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Patricia; a brother, Donald; a grandson, Timothy Cain Sr.; and a great- grandson, Aiden Lopez.

Surviving are her children, Gene & Susan Sinclair of Apache Junction, Arizona, Jane & Tom Doty of Cedarville, Michigan, Karen & Wendell Bliss of Sheridan, Dennis Sinclair and Laurie & Mark Slaughter, all of Dunnellon, Florida; a sister, Shirley Signs of Greenville; a brother, William Marshall of Orleans; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned. Instead of flowers, contributions to Sheridan Community Hospital would be appreciated in recognition of the compassionate care given to Betty.
