Betty Jean Christensen, age 87, of Greenville, passed away Friday afternoon, February 9, 2018 at Metron of Greenville.  The daughter of Arthur D. & Vivian I. Paulsen, she was born on April 21, 1930.  Betty was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hough-Pontius Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3701 in Lakeview, enjoyed wintering in Florida, and treasured her cats…  even strays too.

She was preceded in death by her parents;  a brother, Robert W. Paulsen on July 13, 1940;  and two husbands, Lyle L. "Red' Ackley in 1986 and Leon N. Christensen in 2003.  Survivors include a sister-in-law, Irene LaPaugh of Riverdale;  many nieces and nephews; and a very special friend.

Honoring her wishes, no services will be held and Betty will be laid to rest privately at Hillcrest Cemetery in Six Lakes.  Instead of flowers, Betty would have appreciated contributions in her memory to either Barrie's House at Settlement Lutheran Church, 1031 S. Johnson Road, Gowen, MI  49326 or to the Humane Society of Mid-Michigan,  154 W. Quarterline Street, Stanton, MI 48888.
