Barbara Ann Collins, age 76, of Edmore, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, October 23, 2016. The daughter of Michael & Catherine (Weinhardt) Gares, she was born on June 7, 1940 in Romeo.
On September 12, 1959, in Greenville, she married the love of her life, Michael, and they spent 57 beautiful years together. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Michael Gares.
Surviving are her loving husband and best friend, Michael L. Collins; a daughter, Catherine Collins; a son, Timothy & Christi Collins; four grandchildren, Alexsis Bultema, Gary & Michelle Baker, Ronnie Baker, and Sarabeth Baker; three great-grandchildren, Shae, Luna, and Michael; one brother, Dave & Midge Gares; her husband's siblings, Jerry & Judy Collins, James & Barb Collins, and George Sidloskas; special dear friends, Frank & Frieda Hoke and Charlotte House; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of Barb's life from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, November 5 at the Edmore VFW Post 2292, 1490 E. Main Street, Edmore. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Mid-Michigan Hospice in her memory would be appreciated.

Barb was the one person who when you called her your friend she really was just that. Working with her for years at D&W was the most fun anyone could have and even though we did not talk we always stayed in touch with Christmas cards. She will always be in my heart as a special person who will be missed by all. Rest in Peace Barb.
