Audree Byrom, 78, of Hamlin Lake and Grand Rapids went to her lord and creator peacefully September 9, 2014 in Grand Rapids, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Ludington to Irene and Emery(Lum) Evans. She grew up on Hamlin Lake, the granddaughter of Joseph and Tillie Barnhart.

Audree is remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. The Matriarch that kept her large family together. Audree always had open arms and an open heart, with unconditional love for all of her family.

As a child growing up on Hamlin Lake, her grandparents taught her compassion, tolerance for all people, a deep respect of nature and animals. Audree was an avid swimmer and spent sun-up to sun-down on the water. At age 14 she swam across and back Hamlin in 2hours.

Audree loved all sports, encouraging and supporting her family in the sports of their choice. Her teams were Grand Rapids Catholic Central, Ottawa Hills, University of Michigan and the Green Bay Packers(rarely missing a game). As varied was her love of sports, so were her musical interests. As a young adult she was fortunate to see many renown singers and musicians in Idlewild.

In 1967 Audree moved to Grand Rapids and married James Byrom. While raising nine children, Audree also worked at and retired from Meijers.

Audree is predeceased by her infant twins Gregory and Geofery, Siblings Patsy, Danny, and Chester Cole. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years James Byrom. Children: Debbie(Mark) Saya, Diane(Curtis)Meriwether, Lynda(Linden)LaLonde, John(Sandy)LaLonde, James(Sue) LaLonde, Lesley Byrom, Stacy Byrom-Jones, Stephany Byrom, and Geno Byrom. Grand children: Jada and Jordan Byrom, Lisa Nawrocki, Jessica Garcia, Jamie Parish, Hollie Kessling, Michael, Autumn, and Sarah Dehoff, Cassidy Sheehan, Audree and Natalie LaLonde, Mathew, Michael and Elizabeth LaLonde, Charles and Christopher Byrom, Hannah Jones, Khalil and Khouri Tyler, Tearra and Tyre Tatum, Sariah Byrom, Shyanna and London Byrom with 25 great grand children and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place and the family will hold services in Ludington as well as a celebration of life in Grand Rapids. There will be a service October 11,2014 at Life Change Church 5532 W. US HWY 10, Ludington MI 49431. From 10am-11am with pastor Mark Hacker.A Celebration of Audree’s Life will be held October 12,2014 at Woodland Creek Club House 3300 East Paris AVE, Kentwood MI 49512. From 12pm-5pm
