Jack–so sorry to hear of Ardiths’ passing. I always admired her ability to do such beautiful craft work. I’m sure she’s sitting around a table with the “ole” gang from the Homestead. I recently moved to Stanton. Had to get out of those cold winters in the UP.

When Ardith and I were at a funeral visitation a few years ago, Ardith asked me about my hearing. We had talked previously about our hearing loss that we both were experiencing. She then told me that she had a Cochlear Implant done and I shared that I had a benign tumor removed my left hearing ear. When I asked her if she had her implant done in Detroit, she replied “No, in Grand Rapids.” I knew then that we had the same Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) doctor do our surgeries. I saw this doctor for a check-up a few years later and I mentioned the conversation that I had with my cousin. He asked me her name. When I told him, he joyfully shared how he liked Ardith so much as a patient. This warms my heart today. This doctor gave both of us so much…(I am struggling for the right words to explain.

When my family would visit the Crawford home when I was a child, Ardith and I would to go her room and play games and look at her dolls.
These are wonderful memories that I have.
