Anthony Peter Wolkow, Jr., age 65, of Grand Rapids, passed away on September 10, 2016 at home surrounded by family. The son of Anthony Peter, Sr. & Claire Mae Wolkow he was born on November 11, 1950 in Grand Rapids.

Tony retired from Spartan after 30 years of warehouse distribution and was a proud Teamster. He had many outdoor hobbies including fishing and hunting. Tony enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren compete in sporting activities and was a fan of the Western Michigan University and Detroit Lions football teams. A proud U.S. Army Veteran, Tony served his country in the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his father. Surviving is his mother, Claire Wolkow; loving wife of 43 years, Nancy Lynn Wolkow; two children, Nathan John (Katherine Dixie) Wolkow, and Amity Lynn Wolkow; grandchildren, Hayden Christian, Gwendolyn Dixie, George Anthony, Conner Joseph, Grace Lynn; siblings, Mark Wolkow, Michele (Tex) Graham; siblings in-law, Terry Edwards, Patty McKinney, Wally DeVries; and many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. A special thanks to Beth Fair in helping the family during Tony’s last days.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
