Mr. Alvy Maurice Peterson, age 58, of Lansing, passed away early Sunday morning, June 1, 2008 at Ingham County Medical Center, Lansing.

The son of Clarence & Betty Jean (Riddge) Paterson, he was born on Dec. 27, 1949 in Lansing.  A veteran of the Vietnam Conflict,  Alvy proudly served with the U.S. Army and was awarded the Nationa Defense Service medal, the Vietnam Campaign medal, and the M-16 Marksman’s medal.  He had been employed with the City of Lansing in the Public Works Department.

Survivors include three sons, Isaac, Erik, and Matthew Peterson.  Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial gathering will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2008 in the Community Room of Washington Park Apartments, 3200 S. Washington Avenue, Lansing.  

Arrangements were entrusted to the Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Greenville.
