Allan L. Cazier, age 65, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2016 under the loving care of his family and Spectrum Health Hospice. The son of Lawrence & Mae (Spencer) Cazier, he was born on October 19, 1951 in Grand Rapids. Allan was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served during the Vietnam era.
On November 1, 1969 he married the former Vicki Lynn Palethorpe and together they enjoyed 33 years of marriage and raised three daughters. Following a long battle with cancer, Vicki preceded him in death on May 12, 2003. He was also preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Alice Champlain; and a brother, Russell Cazier. On April 3, 2004 he married Waynette Dale (Abernathey) Brandt and they enjoyed twelve years of marriage.
For over 24 years Allan worked as a driver with the former Electrolux Home Products. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was also a skilled woodworker and liked working on cars and trucks.
Surviving are his wife, Waynette Brandt-Cazier of Greenville; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Veronica & Greg Jeffery of Belding, Jennifer & Marc Ziemke of Rockford, and Jessica Cazier of Belding; a step-son, Carter Brandt of Greenville; a brother, Warren Cazier of Sidney; a sister, Carol Cory of Lakeland, Florida; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two aunts, Bessie Smith and Joan Cazier; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Military honors will be rendered jointly by the U.S. Marine Corps and the American Legion Honor Guard at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Ray I. Booth American Legion Post 101, 1320 W. Washington Street, Greenville, with a celebration of life gathering immediately following.
