Alan Douglas Hicks, age 57, of Belding, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014 at home under the loving care of his family and Spectrum Health Hospice. The son of Jack R. & Mary A. (Walker) Hicks, he born on August 13, 1957 in Greenville. Before becoming disabled, Alan had worked at the former Belding Products air conditioning plant. He enjoyed collecting coins, cutting wood, golfing, and shopping.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Hicks, on January 16, 1993.

Surviving are his mother, Mary Hicks of Belding; a sister, Catherine Hicks of Belding; four brothers, Jack & Bonnie Hicks of Greenville, Robert & Joyce Hicks of Carson City, Scott & Karen Hicks of Belding, and Rick & Kay Hicks of Gowen; an aunt, Adelia Londo of Grand Rapids; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation is from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday at Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. The Rev. Kenneth Harger, retired pastor of Shiloh Community Church, will officiate and burial will take place privately at Forest Home Cemetery, Greenville.
