Susan Marthe Kohlenberger, age 86, formerly of Grand Rapids, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2023 at Golden Life in Greenville.
The daughter of Edward & Anne (Froelich) Meyer, she was born on May 16, 1936 in Detroit. After earning her nursing degree, she worked as a Registered Nurse and was a loving mother, wonderful homemaker, and a very good cook. She could organize anything and loved fashion and style..
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bob Meyer; and two husbands, Anthony “Tony” Francisco and Alexander J. “Alex” Ruffin.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Debi Haslam of Florida, Tony Francisco of Pennsylvania, Anne Bradley of Newaygo, and Jennifer Ritter of Ionia; her former husband, Roger Kohlenberger of Ada; step-children, Scott Ruffin, Melissa Ruffin, Jim Ruffin, James Kohlenberger, Joseph Kohlenberger, and Michael Kohlenberger; many wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a number of extended family and friends she cared about deeply.
Visitation is 12-1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Christiansen’s Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Chaplain Jonathan Bratt-Carle of Gentiva Hospice will officiate and burial will take place privately at Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery in Grand Rapids.
