Susan Cousineau

October 11, 1961 — March 14, 2024

Susan Elenora Cousineau, affectionately known as Big Mama to her loved ones, gracefully concluded her earthly journey on Thursday, March 14, 2024. She passed away peacefully at home after bravely battling cancer for over five years. Born to Donald and Diana Garno on October 11, 1961, Susan was preceded in death by her father, Donald Garno. She is survived by her mother, Diana Garno. Big Mama leaves behind her devoted husband, Joseph Cousineau; her son Joel and his partner, Jasmine, who eagerly anticipate the arrival of a new addition to the family; her daughter, Caroline Fullerton, who is married to Alex Fullerton, and their children Elliot Dean and Grace Gertrude; and her youngest daughter, Emily Robards, who is married to Adam Robards, along with their son, Luke Joseph. Additionally, Susan is survived by her 11 siblings, along with their spouses, children, and grandchildren. A faithful Christian, daughter, wife, and mother, Susan found joy in waterskiing and ensuring at any given time there was always enough food to feed an army. Her dedication to her family was unwavering, and she found fulfillment in nurturing her loved ones. To Susan, her grandchildren were her greatest treasure, her legacy. She affectionately referred to them as her prodigies, recognizing the immense pride and joy they brought into her life. Her love for them knew no bounds, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and resilience. Though she may have bid farewell to this world, her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. A celebration of Susan's life will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at the Community of Christ Church – Bristolwood, 1158 Bristol Rd, Flint, MI 48507. Visitation with the family will be from 9-11am, followed by a service at 11am and a luncheon thereafter. Rest in peace, Big Mama. Your light will forever shine brightly in our hearts.
