Shirley Jean Jobin, age 76, formerly of Spring Lake, passed away Monday, August 3, 2020 at Royal View Retirement Community near Mecosta. The daughter of George Samuel & Vera Pauline (Stevens) Suprian, she was born on July 28, 1944 in Lansing. A native of North Muskegon, Shirley worked as a clerk and typist for nine nurses with the Ottawa County Health Department from 1975-2010 and enjoyed arts and crafts of any sort, painting, reading, flower arranging, sewing, and loved music... especially country western (and singing in the car). In retirement she made her home in Lakeview, first at Bell Tower Estates, then at Lakeview Terrace, until recently moving to Royal View Retirement Community. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a great niece, Lauren Johnson. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne & David Merriman of Six Lakes; two grandsons, Daniel Merriman, and his fiancee Sara, and Lucas Merriman; a great-grandson, Owen Lee Merriman; two sisters, Mary Hollinshead of Weaverville, North Carolina, and Beverly Johnson of Muskegon; two nephews, David & Donna Hollinshead of Weaverville, North Carolina, and Jerry Johnson of Muskegon; and three great-nephews, Michael Hollinshead, Christofer Hollinshead, and Nathan Johnson Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Christiansen's Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Greenville, (616) 754-5638.
