Shelley Wisdom

Shelley Lee Wisdom, age 71, of Grand Rapids, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Mercy Health - St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Rapids. The daughter of Edison Ferris & Kathryn Louise (Hill-Butler) Lovett, she was born on May 9, 1949 in Grand Rapids. Shelley worked as a night manager at Leonard Terrace Apartments for the City of Grand Rapids Housing Commission. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, and holiday decorating, and was an active member of the church community that was held at Leonard Terrace, along with always having a cheerful and helpful spirit to those in the complex she served. She was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are her sons, Joseph & Angela Wisdom of Spring Lake, Michigan, and Todd Wisdom of Grand Rapids, Michigan; one grandchild, Alayna Wisdom of Spring Lake, Michigan; a brother, Gregory & Diana Lovett of Branch, Michigan; two sisters, Barb & Don VanderPloeg of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Sharon Morford of Chicago, Illinois. She will also be forever remembered by her nieces and nephews, extended families and her close friends. Private family services will be held on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 3627 Linden Avenue S.E. at 36th Street (one block west of Eastern Avenue), Grand Rapids, with committal services following at Resurrection Cemetery, Wyoming. Memorial donations can be made in honor of Shelley to the Humane Society of West Michigan, as she always enjoyed the company of cats.
