Sunrise: September 30, 1947 Sunset: February 7, 2023 Sheilla was born September 30th 1947 to Howard Washington Sr & Helen (Wright) Hayes in Memphis, TN. She and her siblings later move to Grand Rapids, MI where she graduated from Central High School, took a job at Grand Rapids Diecasting, married James Ashley and had (6) six beautiful children. Sheilla was extremally active participating in and with both the Methodist House senior center and the salvation army senior center where she volunteered as a senior liaison many friends but what she loved most was spending time with her children and family (Friday night was always family night). Sheilla was an awesome Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunty, Cousin and Friend and will be greatly missed by all that were bless to make her acquaintance. On February 7th, 2023 at 7:01 am Sheilla awoke in the arms of The Most High greeted at the gates by those that crossed over before her... Visitation will take place on Friday, February 24, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. (NOON) until 2:00 p.m. at Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 3627 Linden Avenue S.E. at 36th Street (one block west of Eastern Avenue), Grand Rapids.
