Richard J. "Dick" Taylor Obituary (1928 - 2020)

Richard James "Dick" Taylor, age 91, of Greenville, passed away at home on Monday, July 13, 2020. The son of James Edward & Mary Olive (Kadwell) Taylor, he was born on November 9, 1928 in Belding. He was raised on various farms in Montcalm County until his parents settled in Greenville where he met the love of his life Inez Kathleen Hansen, whom he married at the bride's home in Greenville on December 11, 1948. Together they raised four children and were married for over 66 years before Inez passed away on November 5, 2015. Richard attended Greenville High School before going to work at Gibson's in 1946 retiring from there in 1989. He also proudly served in the National Guard where he was honorably discharged in 1951. Richard enjoyed his morning coffee with his friends at McDonald's. He also loved his gardening planting a large garden every year which was enjoyed by his children. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister, Frances; and his wife of nearly 67 years, Inez Taylor. Surviving are their four children, Edward Taylor of Stanton, Larry & Robin Taylor of Norton Shores, Kathy & Rick Stout of Stanton, and Mary & Nick Bauman of Greenville; his grandchildren, James & Mindi Taylor, Mandy & Robert Putnam, Jerrud & Celeste Stout, Douglas & Sarah Bauman, and Carrie Bauman; twelve great-grandchildren; a sister, Millie Smith of Belding; a brother Donald & Jodi Taylor of Hersey; and several generations of nieces and nephews. Honoring his wishes, no services will be held and final interment will be beside his wife at Little Denmark Cemetery in Gowen.
