Rachel Varney

Rachel Jean Varney, age 39, formerly of Greenville, passed away unexpectedly on Friday evening, June 28, 2019 at home in Duncan, South Carolina. The daughter of Linda Kay (Updike) & Danny Raymond Varney, she was born on September 12, 1979 in Greenville and was a graduate of Greenville High School. Rachel had worked in customer service in the retail and grocery business, beginning her career with Meijer in Greenville. She enjoyed watching movies and murder-mystery shows, but found her greatest delight in spending time with friends. Survivors include her significant other, Ralph Nieto of Duncan, South Carolina; her mother, Linda Ross of Sidney; her father and step-mother, Dan & Chris Varney of Greenville; a brother, Dustin "Duke" Varney & Kristen Wojokowski of Grand Rapids; two step-brothers, Alex and Ben; a niece, Olivia; a nephew, Nash; maternal aunt, Cindy & Rick Spaans; paternal uncle, Russell & Linda Varney; and many cousins and friends. Visitation with the family is from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville,where a committal prayer service will conclude the visitation at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
