Michael Bertotti

June 15, 1946 — November 21, 2021

Michael J. Bertotti, age 75, of Grand Rapids, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 21, 2021. He was born on June 15, 1946, in Grand Rapids, to parents Ernest & Helen Bertotti, of Lake Odessa. Mike married Luellyn Stoel on December 27, 1969, at Lake Odessa Christian Reformed Church. Michael proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and thoroughly enjoyed his two years of service in Germany as chauffer to General William McAffrey. Throughout his career, he was a dedicated and committed employee whose work ethic has been passed on to his children and grandchildren. As a trophied marksman, he loved recreational shooting and took great pride in the craftmanship of the sport. His passion for guns, cars, airplanes, and military history brought him immense joy and knowledge he lovingly shared with others. Mike enjoyed walking the neighborhood and local nature trails with his rescued dogs, most recently, his "Old-Girl" Libby. Together they enjoyed multiple walks a day tracking squirrels, deer, and rabbits. In his later years, Mike enjoyed spending time up north at his "Farm "where he took his grandchildren on front loader rides, spent hours on the snowmobile trails, and had fun shooting and walking on the spacious and beautiful property. Mike and Lu were regular fixtures at breakfast diners up north and in town at Real Food Cafe, where employees become like family. His integrity, wit and infectious smile will live on in our memories. Mike will be remembered and missed by his wife of nearly 53 years, Luellyn Bertotti of Grand Rapids; his four children, Mark Bertotti of Grand Rapids, Melaine Bertotti & Greg Pinson of Denver, CO, Matthew & Amy Bertotti of Hudsonville, MI, Melinda Bertotti & Paul South of Brooklyn, NY; seven grandchildren: Jack Pinson, Adeline Bertotti, Amelia Bertotti, Ava Bertotti, Christian Bertotti, Oliver Pinson, Lucille Pinson; sister, Mary Campbell; as well as many other relatives and friends. A time of gathering will be held from 2:00 pm until 4:00 on Friday, November 26, 2021, at Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 3627 Linden Avenue SE, Grand Rapids. www.MichiganCremation.com .
