Marylu Martha Hilliker age 61, formerly of Greenville, moved on to eternal life on Wednesday, April 1, 2015.
She went through her journey with her battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. No matter the obstacles that she faced she still managed to make those around her smile and laugh. Right to the end she showed her determination and strength. She is dancing in the sky and enjoying her eternal life now.
She will leave many memories to those who loved her. Through her earthly life she enjoyed and loved many things, she loved the warm sun on her face, she loved to garden, she enjoyed to run her feet through the sand at the beach, she loved to sit and listen to the rain storms, go camping, dancing, teaching her grandsons Quinn, Cruz and Jayden how to climb trees, bonfires, playing cards, playing yahtzee, caring for animals, sitting on the dock at Horton Lake visiting with friends but most of all she loved her children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis & Dorothy Gillis, both brothers, Larry & Richard Gillis, her dear friend Glenna and her best friend (dog) Journey. Surviving are a daughter, Rebecca & Kevin Foley of Grand Rapids; a son, Matthew Tiffany of Greenville; two sisters, Laureen Gillis of Greenville, and Dorothy & Steve Sprague of Gowen; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Marylu's life will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Hathaway Properties Clubhouse, located at 820 S. Greenville West Drive, Greenville. Family and friends are asked to come with a smile and celebrate your wonderful memories of Marylu. As some know she loved her sweets and anything with sugar...so we will be enjoying some of her favorite sweet treats. The family would be honored if you would wear bright happy colors to celebrate her life.
