Lorain Westbrook

Lorain D. Westbrook, age 82, of Entrican, passed away Friday afternoon, Sept. 21, 2012 at her home under the loving care of her family and Heartland Hospice. The daughter of Leonard & Florence (Porteus) Tava, she was born on Feb. 15, 1930 in Manton. Following her graduation from Luther High School, she married Percy H. Westbrook, Sr. She was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed crocheting and knitting, as well as crossword puzzles, and yard sales. She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy, on June 28, 2004; two daughters, Donna Rieckman and Beatrice Cobb; a grandson, Edward Elliott II; two granddaughters, Janelle Cobb and Amy Westbrook; and four sisters, Ruth, Helen, Nevina, and Mildred. Surviving are her children, Linda & Keith Delay of Lakewood, Colorado, Perry Sr. & Janet Westbrook of Grand Rapids, Jerry Westbrook of Grand Rapids, Percy Jr. & Cheryl Westbrook of Byron Center, Terri Westbrook & Dean Todd of Stanton, and Don Westbrook of Entrican; a brother, Leonard Tava of Coopersville; two sisters, Lois Pontz of Baldwin and Lila VanEtten of Grand Rapids; twelve grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
