Linda Kay Blount, age 68, of Greenville, passed away Saturday morning, May 23, 2015 at her home under the loving care of her family and Spectrum Health Hospice. The daughter of W. Lee & Riva G. (Peace) Anderson, she was born on June 4, 1946 in Marshall, Missouri. Her family moved to Greenville when her father came to manage the J.C. Penney store and later they owned and operated Lee's Mens Wear in downtown Greenville. A graduate of Greenville High School, Linda married Harry G. Blount on May 10, 1968 and together they raised two sons.
For many years, Linda worked as a merchandising representative for American Greetings and will be remembered by many for her warm smile and friendly conversation while she restocked and reorganized the greeting card aisles at area stores. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and photography.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant granddaughter, Gabrielle Grace Blount; and her brother, William Anderson.
Surviving are her husband, Harry Blount; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Greg & Melissa Blount, and David Blount, all of Greenville; five very loved grandchildren, Jenna, Maddison, Logan, Taylor, and Carmen; a sister and brother-in-law, Patricia & Bernie Oppenheim of Florida; three sisters-in-law, Sharon Anderson of Rockford, Betty & Jerry Johnson of Belding, and Liz & Vernon Short of Crystal.
