Juan Quiroga

June 21, 1955 — March 15, 2024

Juan Carlos Quiroga, age 69, of Wyoming, MI, formerly of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024 at his home under the loving care of his family and Corewell Health Hospice. The son of Juan Julio & Maria Elena (Nunez) Quiroga, he was born on June 21, 1955, in Sucre, Boliva. Juan earned his Urban Development and Architectual degree from the University of San Simon, in Cochabamba, Bolivia. He also worked as a radio announcer and taught karate. He used his studies to encourage improvements in his home city of Quillacollo. In the States, he worked part time as an architect, focusing on residential homes and landscapes through his business: Southwest Dreamscapes. He wanted people to know that they could have beautiful homes and gardens if they just installed their dreams little by little. Juan worked fulltime in Engineering at resorts and hotels in Arizona: AZ Biltmore Hotel, Silverleaf, and Marriott. He also contributed as a translator. In 1982, in Quillacollo, Bolivia, he married Cathleen Dietz and together they enjoyed 41 years of marriage and raised a daughter. He was a Christian leader, a church planter, and a Steven's Minister. Juan was known for his compassion and great sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a baby sister. Surviving are his wife, Cathleen Quiroga, their daughter, Margarita (husband Gerardo and two children); and three sisters, Sofia, Elizabeth (husband diseased), Rosse Mary and their husbands and children in Bolivia and Paraguay. A Celebration of Life is being planned on April 26, 2024, at 4pm, at Frontline Bible Church, 8283 Pfeiffer Farms Dr. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315. Juan was a storyteller and a lover of stories.
