Johnny Jourdan

Johnny Mark Jourdan, age 79, of Edmore, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015, surrounded by his family at Spectrum Health-Kelsey Hospital in Lakeview. The son of Harry Ormand & Dorothy Oneida (Baird) Jourdan, he was born on January 16, 1935 in Mount Pleasant and grew up in the Six Lakes area -- where he continued to make his home for most of his life. A proud veteran of the Korean War, he served as a Gunners Mate with the U.S. Navy and saw service aboard many ships. He married the former Yvonne Hansen and together they raised four children. During his many years of employment at Hitachi Magnetics he shared with his family his love of craftsmanship and the importance of hard work. Johnny enjoyed camping and traveling and found no one to be a stranger. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Yvonne, in 1981; his second wife, Barbara Wilson in 1997; and by his special friend, Frances Brock, last year. Surviving are his four children, Ormand Jourdan of Lompoc, California, Dennis Jourdan of Edmore, Kimberly Jourdan of Sheridan, and Greg & Janice Jourdan of Edmore; five grandchildren, Samantha Jourdan, Brittany Jourdan, Melissa & Dave Johnson, Chris Harnack, and Kelsey Jourdan; three great grandchildren, Jourdan, Evann, and Cade; and by his canine companion and granddog, Gunner.
