Joetta Taylor

December 26, 1952 — July 27, 2022

With great sadness we announce that on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, the world has lost a true blessing of a woman, JoEtta Jean Taylor, a loving Mother, Grand Mother, Great-grand Mother, Sister, Aunt and Friend to all! JoEtta was known by many names (Jo to her friends and family, JoJo to her nieces and nephews, Grandma T to her grandchildren, and GG to her great granddaughters) left this world peacefully at her home with her daughter Missey by her side, and surrounded by loved ones. Jo, the daughter of Clyde and Mary Cutler, was born December 26, 1952, in Edmore, and was a lifetime resident in the southern part of Vestaburg. Jo graduated from Montabella High School in 1971 and went on to study business and accounting at Davenport University. She immensely enjoyed softball (both playing and coaching her daughter's little league team), shopping, gardening, but above all, spending time with her family, and watching her great granddaughters play all around her, as she visited with her grandchildren and daughter. Jo was a driven, hard-working woman, that had just recently retired in September of 2021 from her main employment at EightCAP. She was previously employed at Central Michigan Mental Health and Central Michigan University, among other jobs as an accountant to several businesses. She maintained the accounting needs of the Congregational Church in Stanton, until she was admitted to Hospice care. She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Marilyn Rittenberry; two brothers-in-law Jimmy Rittenberry, and Eddie Walcutt; and niece Cory Dekker. Jo is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Melissa & Jake Erickson; three grandchildren, Christian & Phoebe, Akisha & Dustin, Damien & Kiershton; great granddaughters, Rylee, Frayah, and Adelynn and another great grandchild on the way; siblings Jerri Walcutt, Jan Franklin, and Kenny (Judy) Cutler; and too many nieces, nephews, and friends to mention. Jo will forever be remembered in the hearts and thoughts of every soul she touched, and will carry on in the example and lessons she provided to all that were fortunate enough to know her. "We love you, Jo! Until we meet again!" Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Christiansen's Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Greenville, 616-754-5638.
