Jimmy L. Jensen Jimmy Lloyd Jensen, age 69, of Lakeview, passed away Monday evening, November 20, 2023 at Corewell Health-Greenville Hospital with his children and grandchildren at his side. The son of Elinore Jean (Skutt) & Richard L. Jensen, he was born on April 14, 1954 in Lakeview. After completing 11th grade with Lakeview Community Schools class of 1973 Jimmy enlisted with the United States Marine Corps and briefly served until being medically discharged. In 1990, while working and raising his children, he attended night classes to complete his education and obtain his high school diploma. After a decade of building log cabin homes as owner of Jensen Construction, including his own family home, he spent the rest of his working years as an over the road truck driver, eventually retiring from Ben Gordon Trucking. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard L. Jensen on September 8, 1958; his mother, Elinore J. Smith on February 26, 1996; and a brother, Richard Daniel Jensen on August 16, 2015. Surviving are his children, Jamie & Thomas Ruid of Belding, Brian & Kimberly Jensen of Shelby, North Carolina, Shawna & John Hill of Lakeview, Sheresa Jensen of Lakeview, and Paula Jensen of Rodney; 24 grandchildren Chase Brecht, Tyler Brecht, Seth & Kayla Ruid, Tristan Brecht, Karly Ruid, Kaitlyn Ruid, Dean Naffziger Jr., Brian Jr & Shelby Jensen; Ryan Jensen, Harmony Keeler, Dakota Jensen, Kaeden Morehouse, Kolton Morehouse, Paulina Warren, Laylina Warren, Keirsen Hill, Jordan Warren, Lauren Jo Keeler, Hunter Warren, JP Hill. Kenzie Hill, Reagan Hill and 8 great-grandchildren, Jace Brecht, Oliver Brecht, Octavia Ruid, Jaxon Geiger, Lennyn Brecht, Shirley Brecht, Mila Angers and River Ruid ; his step-father, Clair E. Smith of Lakeview; two brothers, Scott & Danette Smith of Lakeview and Doug Smith of Ferrysburg; and several nieces and nephews. Jimmy passed away due to complications with C.O.P.D. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Jimmy managed his illness with strength and grace and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible. In his final days, he was surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, who he loved more than anything else in the world. Private family services were held on November 21, 2023, with a Celebration of Life being planned for April 13, 2024 (details will be announced later).
