James Walser

James Keats Walser, age 78, of Gowen and formerly of Lansing and Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2020 at his home under the loving care of his family and Spectrum Health Hospice. The son of Frank Jon & Eva Grace (Hicks) Walser, he was born on February 18, 1942 in Kalamazoo. A skilled craftsman, Jim was a heating and air conditioning supervisor at Michigan State University. On January 10, 1964, in Kalamazoo, he married Joyce Lynn Gribbell and together they raised three children and enjoyed 56 years of marriage. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Mary Jo Homrich; and a daughter in law, Marlene (Schaffer) Walser. Surviving are his wife, Joyce Walser of Gowen; their children, Michael Jon & Cara Brink, Joel Bruce & Jeanne Walser, and Jeffrey Adams Walser; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
