James Shook

James W. Shook, Jr., age 78, of Kent City, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021. He was born on April 14, 1942, in Lansing, to James Sr. & Bertha (Scherer) Shook. James married Dorothy Shue on June 3, 1961. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. James worked as a millwright for American Seating. He enjoyed woodworking, riding motorcycles and fishing. James was a member of the Muskegon Motorcycle Club and Kent City American Legion Post 123. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; daughters, Laura Helmer & Stacey (Dave) Groenke; 11 grandchildren; 16 grandchildren; and brother, Steve. He is preceded in death by his son, James W. Shook III; son-in-law, Craig Helmer; and siblings, John, Bill, Shirley & Virginia.
