Germaine "Gerry" Mol Obituary (1932 - 2024)

Germaine C. "Gerry" Mol, age 92, of Carp Lake, passed away at her daughter's home in Greenville on Thursday, April 25, 2024 under the loving care of her family and Corewell Health Hospice. The daughter of Charles Francis & Catherine Rita (Chlapowski) Koprowski, she was born on March 9, 1932 in Grand Rapids. On September 8, 1951, she married Martin Kenneth "Marty" Mol in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Together they enjoyed nearly 68 years of marriage and raised five children. Gerry also worked outside the home in customer service at the former Old Kent Bank. Upon retirement, Marty and Gerry moved to their Carp Lake home on Lake Michigan where they had been vacationing with their family since 1959. Gerry was also a member of the Council of Catholic Women's Club of Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marty; a son, Pastor Alan M. Mol; and a grandson, Joseph Herp. Surviving are three daughters, Charmaine & Virgil Huston of Cedar Springs, Patricia & Randy Herp of Greenville, and Mary Lynn & Joseph Achenbach of Gaston, Indiana; her son, Peter Mol & Jennie Nguyen of Wyoming; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Reed of Canyon, Texas; seven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Visitation with the family is from 12-1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 600 W. Central Avenue, Mackinaw City, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. There will be a luncheon held at the church directly following the mass. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Grand Rapids at a later date. Instead of flowers, contributions in memory of Gerry to Corewell Health Hospice would be appreciated.
