George Hammond

George Arthur Hammond, age 64, of Greenville, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023 at home. The son of Harry Donald & Marjorie M. (Slicker) Hammond, he was born on May 20, 1958 in Greenville, had attended Tri-County Community Schools. He had worked at the former Electrolux Home Products in Greenville, and also for the City of Greenville's Department of Public Works. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donald Harry Hammond; and a nephew, Christopher Lee Hammond. Surviving are his children, Angela & Joshua Batey of Trufant, and Nathan Charles Hammond of Greenville; three granddaughters, Monica Batey, Clara Batey, and Sassy Hammond; a sister, Catherine & Roger Hausler of Boyne Falls; a brother, Walter & Catherine Hammond of Rockford; a sister-in-law, Teresa Hammond of Gowen; two aunts, Coleen "Coke" Slicker of Garland, Texas, and Darlene Slicker of West Macomb; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
