George Gane

September 1, 1923 — February 22, 2015

George Gane, age 91, of Wyoming, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2015. The son of Robert & Mable (Harington) Gane, he was born on September 01, 1923 in Grand Rapids. A highly decorated veteran of World War II, George served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for in the European Theater. He is also a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Masonic lodge, York Rite Commandery and the Saladin Shriner's. He was preceded in death by his parents; and by his loving wife of 53 years, June Gane. Surviving are a daughter, Lynese (Ron) Hoogerhyde; a sister, Lois Stephens; friend and home health care aid of 7yr., Kathryn Orozco, and loving cat Mitzi. Memorial services are at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 5th at Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 3627 Linden Ave. S.E., Grand Rapids, (One block West of Eastern Avenue) with a luncheon following.
