Edward Caswell

Edward Lee Caswell, 73, of Six Lakes, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016, with his daughters and grandchildren at his side, at Hospice of Lansing's Stoneleigh Residence in Lansing. The only child of Russell & Adelene (Waldo) Caswell, he was born on July 24, 1942 in Lakeview and was a decorated combat veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Army where he attained the rank of Sergeant. Following his honorable discharge, Ed worked for 30 years at General Motor's Fisher Body plant in Lansing where he was a proud member of UAW Local 602. An avid motorcyclist, Ed was a member of the Michigan Road Riders club and attended the annual "Blessing of the Bikes" in Baldwin for 26 consecutive years. He also enjoyed woodworking and was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5602 in Six Lakes. He was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his daughters, Linda Louise (Robinson) Caswell; and by his second wife, Linda (Flachs) Caswell. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy & Jon Snyder, and Teresa & Allen Haddix, both of Sunfield; three grandchildren, Zachary Haddix, Ellie Haddix, and Evan Caswell; and many dear friends. Committal services, with military honors, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 13, 2016 (please note date) at Hillcrest Cemetery, Six Lakes. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. Instead of flowers, contributions in memory of Ed to Hospice of Lansing's Stoneleigh Residence would be appreciated.
