David Carte

David Eugene Carte, age 76, of Cassopolis, Michigan, passed away peacefully at his home from an extended illness on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. He was born September 1, 1948, in Ward, West Virginia to the late Eugene and Drexal (Foster) Carte. David retired from Americart Industries of Cassopolis, MI. He was a resident of Cassopolis since the early 1990’s. He loved Nascar, Farming and the Outdoors. He hosted many family and friend gatherings around the table on his porch overlooking Christiana Creek. Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Carte Kime (Britt Weaver); grandchildren, Randy Kime and Emma Bryant of Elkhart and Sasha Hill of Kansas City, Kansas; and great-grandchildren, Jaxson and Stella Kime of Wakarusa. Dave was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Vera Carte; daughter, Jennifer Carte; sister, Sherry Pfund; brothers, Dennis and Daniel Carte; and many friends and extended family. Per his wishes cremation has taken place. A dual Celebration of Life will be held for David and his late brother, Dennis, on January 18, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. (Noon) to 9:00 p.m. at the VFW Post #88, 1519 W Bristol Street, Elkhart, Indiana 46514. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Heartland Hospice for their help and care given to Dave which allowed him to stay in his home for his final days as he had wanted.
