Daniel Goodwin

Daniel L. Goodwin, age 75, of Rockford, passed away Friday, July 7, 2017 at The Laurels of Kent in Lowell following a brief illness. The son of Wilbur & Thelma M. (Waldron) Goodwin, he was born on July 30, 1941 in Greenville and was a graduate of Greenville High School. Daniel retired from Federal-Mogul Corporation in Greenville and enjoyed two-step and square dancing, loved finding a bargain at garage sales and dollar stores, was an avid outdoorsman and hunter, and also enjoyed baseball and collectibles. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Naomi Rupert; a sister-in-law, Rose Goodwin; and a brother-in-law, Art Buckley. Surviving are his daughters, Robin June Goodwin of Alto, and Christine May Goodwin of Lowell; four grandchildren, Ashlei Coleman of Alto, Jessica Deering and her fiance, Brad Kemp, of Clayton, North Carolina, Dylan Deering of Clayton, North Carolina, and Olivia & Michael Hite of Cutlerville; a sister, Alice Buckley of Evart; two brothers, Gilbert & Joan Goodwin of California and David Goodwin of Greenville; and many, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. Visitation with the family is from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday at Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville. The evening will conclude with a committal prayer service led by the Rev. Phillip Mills, pastor of Greenville Bible Methodist Church. Honoring Daniel's wishes, cremation has taken place and burial will be in Eureka Township Cemetery.
