Cassandra Galassi

February 3, 1983 — February 27, 2016

Cassandra Ann Galassi, age 33, of Holland, was called home to heaven in the early hours of Saturday morning, February 27, 2016. Cassandra (Cassy) was born a golden state baby with bright eyes and love for everyone she met. Behind her smile was a great love for family, romance novels, and music; mostly country music. Her greatest passion was for "her babies". Cassy was "the baby whisperer" and all her nephews and nieces were recipients of her loving arms, gentle caresses, and sweet personality. Very little caused Cassy to depart from her gentle ways; unless however, she felt someone posed a threat to a family member. In that case, Cassy could be a force to reckon with. Even in her daily life, Cassy chose to help others. Cassy's job as a Certified Clerical Medical Assistant at Holland Hospital was very fulfilling to her. As they did everywhere for Cassy; many friendships blossomed during her time at the hospital. She was most content, however, spending time with family and close friends. Cassy was born in Redlands, CA and lived in Holland since she was a year old. She attended elementary school in Holland and then West Ottawa; where she graduated in 2001. Surviving are her parents, Lisa (Tim Slager) Beckman and Larry (Sarah) Galassi; grandparents, Catherine McLeod of Holland, Joseph (Sandra) Dezenski of Farmington Hills; the love of her life, Jason VerHulst; siblings, Jeffrey (Kimberly) Slager, Ryan (Kaynae Charles) Slager, Bresha (Noah Hannapel) Beckman, Katrina Lazarecky, Katie Galassi, Thomas (Christy) Galassi, Amanda Galassi, and Zachary Galassi; beloved nephews and nieces, Angel Hannapel, Sophia Hannapel, Timothy Slager, Maria Carskadon, Erika Slager, Nickolas Slager, Gianna Baylor, Gage Nunez, Dominic Galassi, Alessandra Galassi, De'Len Sandifer, and Isaiah Galassi; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. A celebration of Life visitation will be held on Saturday, March 5th, at New Vision Church, 277 Felch Street, Holland, at 2:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 3:00 p.m. and a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made toward Cassy's final expenses, http://darkhorsestudios3.wix.com/cassy . Revelation 7: 16-17 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. 17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters; and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
