Barbara Jean Rhanor, age 75, of Gowen, passed away at her home early Saturday morning, February 20, 2021 after a brief battle with cancer. She was surrounded by loved ones. The daughter of Gordon Julius & Lois Ruth (Brink) Slotman, she was born on May 9, 1945 in Holland, Michigan.
Barb retired from Bareman's Dairy where she worked as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, baking, gardening, and bowling, but most of all she delighted in time spent with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three husbands, Robert Coon, Thomas Bond, and Larry Rhanor; and two sisters, Betty Creswell and Kimberly Schaap.
She is carried in loving memory by her children, Robin Coon and Liberty & Dale Martin; grandchildren, Laurel & Dillon McNeeley, Elijah Marquez, Cameron "CMC" Coon, Cathryn Martin, Trevor Coon, and Skylar Coon; great-grandchildren, Anthony Bott, Wyatt McNeeley, Rory McNeeley, and Eleanor Komejan Rose; a brother, Gary Slotman; and many other beloved family members including Phillip Creswell, Gregory Creswell, Danny Creswell, Howard Schaap, Ian Schaap, and Brandon and Kate Slotman.
A memorial celebration of Barb's life will be announced at a later date. Instead of flowers, contributions in her memory are suggested to either the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
