It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Barbara Rae Bugielski (Barb), a loving, compassionate, loyal, and generous woman who passed away on January 23, 2024. Born to Lawrence and Thelma Mix on September 6, 1942, in Frankfort, MI, Barb was a beacon of kindness and love to all who knew her. Her radiant spirit and enduring loyalty were a testament to her character, and she will be greatly missed. Barb spent her professional life in the service of others, working as a Certified Nursing Aide at Riverside Nursing Home, Grand Haven, Michigan until her retirement in 1983. Throughout her career, she demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the care and well-being of her patients, embodying the quote, "In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer," by Albert Camus. Her passion for helping others didn't end upon retirement. She devoted much of her spare time to volunteer work with the Lions Club and for the Commission for the Blind, offering support and companionship to those in need. Barb is survived by her son, Charles (Alicia) Bugielski; daughter, Kimberly (Derry) Mueller; grandchildren, Andrew (Christina) Nicodemi and Abigail Bugielski; great-grandchildren, Mollie and Adam Nicodemi; and her husband, Charles Bugielski. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Thelma Mix. To Barb, family was everything. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved nothing more than spending time with her loved ones. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate Barb's life, filled with love, compassion, and a generosity of spirit that touched all who knew her. In the words of Maya Angelou, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."
