Anthony (Tony) Raymond Stencel, age 74, of Lowell, unexpectedly passed away in the early morning on Friday the 13th, 2022. He was born on July 8, 1947, in Detroit.
He is preceded in death by his Parents, Roman & Anna Stencel; Mother and Father In-Law Eugene & Freda Osborne. His infant son, Anthony David Stencel; his sisters, Nancy Tocco & Marie Stencel; His Cousin, Greg Kotyrs who was like a brother to him, also his Son In-Law Derrick Barnes.
He is survived by the love of his life, Connie Stencel; Daughters, Trisha (Shad) Propst, Amy Barnes, Aaron (Terresa) Stencel, Tim Stencel; His Grandchildren, Christian Barnes, Nathan Propst, Tara Propst, Michael (Shelby) Barnes, Logan (Marissa) Propst, Miles Barnes, His Sister In-Law Kim (Robert) Ankiel, Brother In-Law William Osborne.
Anybody that knew Tony also knew that Connie was the Love of His Life and Her Rock. Love You More was their saying. He loved all of his kids and grandkids unconditionally.
Tony was involved at St. Mary's Catholic Church for 50 years, he was a Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus, he faithfully played guitar at church every week even when he was under the weather. He loved making music with Eric & Lindsey Bredin.
Tony was an Endman for the Lowell Showboat, where he met Wayne Newton, Pearl Bailey, The Smothers Brothers, Oakridge Boys and many more. Tony was involved with the Lowell Area Arts Council plays. Most important Tony was "The Voice of the Lowell Red Arrows". He started at Birch Field coaching football that turned into announcing 40 years ago. Besides football Tony announced Basketball, Girls Softball, Track, Special Events. He announced every Pink Arrow Game. He got to announce his grandson's hockey game, when LC Hockey played against Kentwood Hockey.
Tony Loved his core group of friends, his coffee buddies and the community he lived in.
Memorial services will be held Thursday May 19, 2022 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 402 Amity St. Lowell, 49331. Interment will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
